恭喜发财 (wishing you great prosperity)

No, this is not a belated Keung Hie Fat choi post. According to Loi, “officially, the Year of the Rabbit year will end Feb. 4, at 6:40 p.m….The official shift of energy to mark the start of the Dragon year is based on the Hsia Chinese Solar calendar.”

She says that a lot of people refer to the Lunar Year as the start of the animal year. This is wrong because there are 12 divisions (12 signs) going around the sun (365.5 days) and not around the moon (29 days). Mothers do fret. Babies born before Feb 4 are considered Rabbit babies.

The Dragon has been traditionally been associated with new beginnings, happiness and good fortune. and thus, it is extremely lucky to have children during this year and also to start a business and get married.

So, to all out there - Gon Xi Fa Cai!
